Day #4: Brrrr!

11:10AM: Burrr! It's freezing. Literally. Last night a big storm came through with massive wind and rain. The wind blew the doors open during the lecture last night, blew the pool cover and furniture all over the place. The temperature dropped down to freezing so frost everywhere this morning. At altitude everything was covered in ice and snow. Froze on our way to go to our stretching/ toning class this morning. After a breakfast of oatmeal, I trudged up the Stop Sign hike again. Holly was joined in the Overlook and down the Stop Sign hike by a large group of other women.

Not the most romantic Valentine's Day, passing in opposite directions on our hikes. Do I look a little exhausted in this photo?

The women had fun. Here they all are making fun of the pedestrian crossing sign...

2:15PM: The pool was freezing from the cover blowing off last night, but Aquacise went on. Though a lot of people wimped out and didn't do it. Denae took it a little easier (Note: easier, not easy...) on us since we have Treading at 2:30PM which will kill us. Lunch was a roasted pepper soup with a really tasty pizza (flat bread, marinara, fake mozzarella, tomatoes and walnuts). Delicious but not enough. And they won't serve us any extras! I think they should let us cheat with extra helpings of healthy food. Then people wouldn't be tempted to go out and cheat elsewhere. And I'm starving enough that I'm thinking about it. 1200 calories isn't cutting it for me.

4:45PM: Uuugh! Dreading Treading... maximum anaerobic cardio interval workouts. 5 minutes maximum exertion, 5 minutes cool down, 4 on, 4 off, 3 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 1 on, 1 off, 30 seconds on, 30 off, 15 on, 3 minutes to cool down. Pure hell. Holly worked so hard she almost passed out on the elliptical machine, so Michelle had her move to a reclining bicycle in case she did pass put. This was immediately followed by an hour of mixed yoga / pilates. Now we have until dinner free while the other half of the group does their treading. Both of us have taken nice long hot showers (and no... not together...keep your dirty minds to yourselves.) Time to relax...

7:35AM Tomorrow: Didn't get around to blogging after dinner... Dinner was a minuscule salmon steak with couscous and a small but delicious shave ice desert, half coconut half cranberry lemon. The lecture was "Mindful Eating."
